Nurse Delegation – Special Focus on Diabetes (Self-Study + Exam)
The Nurse Delegation – Special Focus on Diabetes course is a Washington State DSHS-required certification designed for caregivers and nursing support staff who will assist clients with diabetes-related delegated tasks.
This program provides essential training on diabetes care, safety, and delegated nursing responsibilities in community-based care settings.
This is a 3-hour self-study certification course, meaning students are responsible for reviewing all provided materials independently before completing the required state exam.
Prerequisite Requirement
Completion of Nurse Delegation Core Training is required prior to enrollment. Students must provide proof of an active ND Core certificate before taking this Diabetes Focus course.
Method of Instruction: Self-Study
This course is offered in a self-paced study format. Students will receive the required DSHS training materials (provided via PDF) and must prepare independently for the certification exam.
Certification Requirement: Exam Only
Certification is awarded only after successfully passing the official DSHS Diabetes Focus exam.
Exam is administered virtually online via Zoom
Students must be prepared to test on the full course content
Certificates are issued after passing and will be available within approximately two weeks
Scheduled Virtual Exam Session
🕙 Exam Time: 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Students must attend the full online exam session at the scheduled time.
Exam Information
Exam duration: 1 hour
Format includes multiple choice, true/false, and matching questions
Total questions: 50
Passing score: 80% or higher
Two exam attempts are included (one initial exam + one retake opportunity, if needed) Please note: the retake exam will be a different version than the first attempt.
Students are strongly encouraged to study thoroughly, as this is an exam-based certification course.
