WA DSHS Nurse Delegation Core Training (Self-Study + Exam)
Our Washington State DSHS Nurse Delegation Core Training is a required certification course for caregivers and healthcare workers who need to perform delegated nursing tasks in community-based care settings.
This is a 9-hour self-study program, meaning students are responsible for reviewing all provided materials independently in preparation for the required state exam.
Method of Instruction: Self-Study
This course is designed as an independent learning program. Students will receive the required Nurse Delegation training materials and must study thoroughly to prepare for the certification exam.
Please note: There is no challenge test available for Nurse Delegation Core Training.
Certification Requirement: Exam Only
Certification is awarded only after successfully passing the official DSHS Nurse Delegation exam.
Exam is administered virtually online via Zoom
Students must be prepared to test on the full course content
Certificates are issued after passing and will be available within approximately two weeks
Scheduled Virtual Exam Session
🕘 Exam Time: 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Students must attend the full exam session online at the scheduled time.
Exam Information
Exam duration: 1 hour
Format includes multiple choice, true/false, and fill-in-the-blank questions
Passing score: 80% or higher
Two exam attempts are included (one initial exam + one retake opportunity, if needed) Please note: the retake exam will be a different version than the first attempt.
Students are strongly encouraged to study in advance, as this course requires independent preparation.
